Screening different sections of a biofilm is useful for obtaining a representative description of the biological processes that have occurred.

The function 'Biofilm Analysis' of bioImage_L facilitates an automatic investigation of the entire biofilm population and its sub-populations.



All sections within the biofilm are analyzed and totalized to give parameter values such as: biovolume, mean height, surface-to-volume ratio, and substratum coverage. These calculations are provided for the entire biofilm population and sub-populations. A 'Results' folder is created as an excel file containing all the data acquired.
